Heritage Home members researched, designed, and created a Walking Tour Brochure of Historic New Philadelphia.

The tour book can be downloaded here, and copies are available at the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 124 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio or at the Tusc Kent Archive on the Tuscarawas Campus of Kent State University, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8 am to noon.

Mike Taylor New Philadelphia Collection

Mike Taylor, a former banker, realtor, antique dealer, and mayor, collected thousands of items over the years that had some connection to New Philadelphia.  The eclectic collection contains over 300 pencils, a manhole cover, and ticket registries from the Union Opera House, just to name a few items.
The Tuscarawas County Heritage Home Association accepted Taylor's collection after he had moved from the area.  A small portion of it is being displayed in New Philadelphia's John Knisely Municipal Centre.  The New Philadelphia History Gallery featuring the Mike Taylor Collection will be on display, beginning summer 2026, at Around the Corner Frames, now known as "The Broom Factory," located at 128 Allen Lane SE.

The Green Room

The Green Room in the Streetside Center at 415 Center Street, Dennison is a beautiful rental facility offering many opportunities for professional meetings, workshops, parties, weddings, showers, and more.  It is located in the downtown Historic District across the street from the Dennison Depot Museum.  The Heritage Home Association is responsible for decorating and keeping this room up to date.  The Green Room is a place that can be used as a pre-ceremony bridal suite, and also a changing and comfort station for babies.

TCHHA Members decorated and furnished this room.  Photos of Plaqued Heritage Homes and also those that qualified for our Hero of Preservation Awards in the Uhrichsville and Dennison area are displayed on the walls.
